Cryolipolysis essentially entails freezing fat cells beneath the skin at a controlled temperature of around - 5°C to - 13°C using a specialized device that cools the targeted area, without damaging other cells or lowering overall body temperature. In areas where the technology is applied, fat cells become crystallized and are eventually eliminated by the body naturally as waste material. Cryolipolysis can be performed quickly and conveniently at our clinic and a typical session takes about one hour, or sometimes more if multiple areas are being treated. At your appointment, a member of our expert team will prepare and protect the skin before applying the applicator device to create the freezing effect in specific zones. You may feel some minor sensation such as tingling or stinging, however this is normal, and will subside as the skin becomes numb from cooling.
Results from cryolipolysis should start to appear within about three to eight weeks post-procedure and full results are achieved at around the 4-6 week mark, once eradicated fat cells have been fully metabolized by the body. Depending on your desired outcome, a series of treatments may be recommended. You may also be advised to schedule follow-up sessions a few months apart to maintain your results.
